web site brings the action to you
FORT WORTH, TexasThis
year Paint Horse enthusiasts from around the
world can keep up with the action at the 2000
World Championship Paint Horse Show by logging
on to the American Paint Horse Association's
official web site, www.apha.com.
The latest results, pictures
of World Champions and the World Show's official
newsletter, Around the World, will be posted
on the web site daily, offering up-to-date information
about the world's most prestigious Paint Horse
event. In addition, the APHA plans to broadcast
live video of World Showcase Sale over the Internet.
Irene Stamatelakys, APHA's
Web Site Director, said the new developments
were the result of user feedback and months
of preparation.
"Last year we started posting
class results very quickly-sometimes in less
than an hour," said Stamatelakys. "For those
family members, friends and Paint folks that
could not attend the show, this was a great
way to keep up with the latest developments.
"Based on their response and
suggestions, we've expanded our efforts to include
photos of all the winners and even a video feed
from the sale. And we're exploring the idea
of expanding the broadcast to include finals
classes. Photos are great, but nothing can match
a live video feed.
"We've decided, 'If you can't
make it to the Paint World Show, then we'll
bring the World Show to you.'"
Currently, prospective exhibitors
and spectators can go online and get detailed
information on the one-of-a-kind event. By clicking
on "Events" and then "World Show," visitors
can access the latest updates on the Challenge
Series, dates and deadlines, Horse & Rider Seminars,
judges list, Premium Book, World Showcase Sale,
class schedules and Colors of the West Trade
Show.
In addition, the complete
Premium Book and all entry forms can be downloaded
off the web site. Users may also request a printed
copy be mailed.
