| Ride a horse, learn to rope, and more at free Paint Horse 'Kids Day' in Fort Worth this Saturday FORT WORTH, Texas—If you know children who have a love for horses, be sure to bring them to a free Kids Day celebration being hosted by the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) at its Paint Horse headquarters, 2800 Meacham Boulevard in Fort Worth on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Children will have the chance to ride a real Paint Horse, learn how to groom a horse, visit a special petting area, enter a stick horse barrel race, get free roping lessons, and watch and learn from a cowboy trick roper. There’s more -- APHA is also hosting a chuck wagon cookout, free for children of all ages.
All kids will receive free Paint Horse posters, balloons, stickers and horse tattoos. They can even get their faces painted.
APHA’s popular mascot, “Paint Horse Pete,” will also be on hand to visit with children and will give out some special goodies.
The fun lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Paint Horse Association, which is sponsoring Kids Day as part of its educational outreach program to teach children about horses and Western lifestyles.
The entire event is free and open to the public.
To reach APHA, take the Meacham Boulevard exit off I-35-W in Fort Worth. Travel east ¼ mile along Meacham Boulevard. Four larger-than- lifesize bronze Paint Horses adorn the front of the headquarters offices.
