Jim and Gloria Austin, whose organization promotes education and recognition of the minority cowboy’s continuing role in molding the West, modeled for APHA during a recent photo session. Two of the resulting photos, which highlight a common celebration of the American Western heritage, are featured in the APHA calendar for the month of August 2008. In the main image, the couple ride two colorful Paints across an open field at dawn. The American Paint Horse is the official horse of the NCCMHF, and APHA is a sponsor of the museum.
