American Paint Horse Association partnering
with American Horse Council for on-line donations
The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) is working directly with the American Horse Council (AHC) to assist with disaster relief efforts for people and their horses affected by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
Immediate on-line donations can be made directly to the American Horse Council Foundation. For more information, and to make your donation, visit www.horsecouncil.org. Or call American Horse Council Foundation at (202) 296-4031.
The proceeds of this hurricane relief fund will assist horse owners and their horses. APHA will be part of a unified horse industry task force, coordinated by AHC, to help identify where funds can best be utilized.
“We have received an outpouring of support of APHA members wanting to help in the disaster relief efforts,” said APHA Executive Director Lex Smurthwaite. “One of the best ways to help right now is to make your donation to the AHC Foundation. We will work with AHC to help determine the best use of these funds for hurricane victims and their horses. The need is immense, but our members are ready to join with the entire horse community to help in this great effort.”
American Horse Council Foundation President Jay Hickey said, “This catastrophe has captured the hearts of horse people everywhere. We feel it is our responsibility as the American Horse Council Foundation to help in any way we can. We would like to thank to equine community for the generosity we know it will be all too willing to bestow upon this extremely important cause.”
The American Horse Council Foundation is a Section 501(c)(3) organization under the internal revenue code. Contributions to it are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
