Part of APHA’s effort to reward Paint Horses for their success in
competition, the Gelding Plus incentive program honors the owners of
top Paint Horses with thousands in added cash. APHA awarded a total
of $10,000 to the two top Paint geldings at this showcase event.
“APHA is excited about the success of these two Paint Horses at a
prestigious event like the NCHA Futurity,” said APHA Paint Programs
Coordinator Jessica McDaniel. “The sport of cutting, which requires
an intelligent, athletic equine for success, is a natural fit for the
Paint breed.”
This year, 2007, will mark a significant change in APHA’s incentive
programs. While the Gelding Plus incentive’s added money will be
distributed to top geldings at APHA Zone competition, NCHA
competitors have will have the chance to win more than $75,000 at the
2007 NCHA Futurity through the Paint Preferred program.
