Winlock, Washington, resident named
president-elect of APHA Executive Committee

FORT WORTH, TEXAS—Linda Vance of Winlock, Wash., was recently elected to serve on the American Paint Horse Association’s (APHA) 2009 Executive Committee as president-elect. Her election, and fourth term on the Executive Committee, came during the Association’s recent 38th APHA Annual Convention in San Diego, Calif.

The Executive Committee on which Vance serves is the governing body that sets APHA policy and is responsible for the Association’s activities and fiscal integrity. Vance will lead the committee next year as president.

Vance first became involved with APHA to support her daughter’s horse show career. For the past 20 years, she has also served in various capacities at both the local and regional level of the Association, including as president of the Washington State Paint Horse Club and service with APHA’s Northwest Coordinating Committee. This committee assists clubs in the Pacific Northwest in showing and promotion of the breed.

For her exemplary work and active role in promoting the American Paint Horse breed, Vance was awarded her local APHA zone’s highest member honor in 2005—the Distinguished Service Award.

Today, Vance maintains a deep commitment to advancing the American Paint Horse breed and welcoming new members to the organization. She has also dedicated her service toward educating people about the value of being actively involved with Paint Horses and APHA.

Vance is joined on an executive committee that includes President John Corbin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Vice President Dr. Travis Titlow of Lincoln, Calif.; Senior Committee Member Scot Jackson of Stephenville, Texas; Fifth Committee Member Gregg Reisinger of Eldora, Iowa; Sixth Committee Member Mary Parrott of Ruston, La. and Immediate Past President Carl Thurow of Wichita, Kan.
