Stephenville, Texas, resident
elected to APHA Executive Committee

FORT WORTH, TEXAS—Scot Jackson of Stephenville, Texas, was recently elected to serve as the senior committee member on the American Paint Horse Association’s (APHA) 2009 Executive Committee. His election, and third term on the Executive Committee, came during the Association’s recent 38th APHA Annual Convention in San Diego, Calif.

The Executive Committee on which Jackson serves is the APHA governing body that sets policy and is responsible for the Association’s activities and fiscal integrity.

Jackson got his start in the horse industry in 1973 when he began showing horses for his father, Dr. Bill Jackson, who served as APHA President in 1993. Through the years, Jackson has gained experience in many phases of the horse industry, including training, showing and breeding American Paint Horses.

Along with his horse management duties, Jackson has served in a variety of other capacities in the industry, including six years as president for the Cross Timbers Paint Horse Club and as chairman of the Show and Contest Committee for APHA. He also judges Paint shows across the globe and performing growth and development consulting for racehorse farms.

Jackson serves on an Executive Committee that includes President John Corbin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; President-Elect Linda Vance of Winlock, Wash.; Vice President Dr. Travis Titlow of Lincoln, Calif.; Fifth Committee Member Gregg Reisinger of Eldora, Iowa; Sixth Committee Member Mary Parrott of Ruston, La.; and Immediate Past President Carl Thurow of Wichita, Kan.
