Metro Golf Cars of Fort Worth signs on as
sponsor of APHA World Show
FORT WORTH, Texas- Metro Golf Cars, a motorized utility vehicle
dealership, has signed on as an official sponsor of the 2002
World Championship Paint Horse Show, to be held June 23 through
July 6 at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth,
Texas.
With thousands of visitors coming to Fort Worth for the show,
exhibiting approximately 2,000 horses, APHA's partnership
with Metro Golf Cars offers an efficient solution for getting
around the 85-acre Will Rogers Equestrian Center, where events
will be held at three different arenas.
"As temperatures soar during that time of year in Texas,
it is understandable that no one wants to walk great distances
in the heat. Our vehicles offer the best way to get around,"
said Ben King of Metro Golf Cars.
As part of its support for APHA, Metro Golf Cars will maintain
a fleet of about 125 gas and electric vehicles at the show.
The cars can be adapted into many configurations to haul people,
feed and supplies. The vehicles can accommodate from two to
eight people.
In addition, Metro Golf Cars will service their vehicles
on site.
King said that his company's vehicles, although originally
intended to aid golfers, have found widespread uses over the
years. "We have a $6 million business and our growth
has been in areas that have nothing to do with golf,"
King said. "About 85 percent of our customers have found
the cars useful in a variety of other areas, ranging from
security to ground maintenance.
"The transportation needs of APHA World Show attendees
represent still another area of growth for us."
