Viggo Mortensen, John Fusco bring ‘Hidalgo’ home
American Paint Horses ride into hearts
of leading Hollywood actor and screenwriter

The Hollywood press was in for a treat when Viggo Mortensen showed up with his American Paint Horse “TJ” during the world premiere of Hidalgo on March 1. Mortensen jogged the horse down Hollywood Boulevard and onto the red carpet in front of the El Capitan Theatre, where the premiere was held.

Renowned horse trainer Rex Peterson, left, was head wrangler on Hidalgo. He was assisted by Kevin Manning at the premiere. Peterson was instrumental in selecting five registered American Paint Horses for the film. Peterson trained all five horses, including “TJ,” shown here at the world premiere of the film at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
