Elected by their peers to head the organization in the coming year, members of the Executive Committee set APHA policy and are responsible for the association's activities and fiscal integrity.

The association has registered more than 847,000 horses since it was formed in 1962, and approximately two-thirds of those registrations have taken place in the last decade. In addition, APHA is registering new horses at a rate of approximately 40,000 per year. More than 105,000 people in 40 nations and territories are active members of the association.

APHA continues to offer the largest Paint Horse show each year. At the 2005 World Championship Paint Horse Show, the association recorded its largest number of entries ever for its premier event, held annually in Fort Worth, Texas. A record 4,848 entries were logged, representing a 7-percent increase over the previous year's number. In addition, 1,838 horses were exhibited at the 14-day show.

New in 2006 will be an exciting show and event, Paint Vegas, which will be held Dec. 6-10 in Las Vegas, Nev. Far more than your typical horse show, Paint Vegas promises five fun-filled days of futurity, jackpot and slot classes in true Las Vegas style.

Among the many activities and programs it offers, APHA works to preserve bloodlines and maintain the outstanding characteristics of the American Paint Horse breed.
