| Top Hand Tack tackles APHA World Show
FORT WORTH, Texas—As the official 2005 Western saddle and tack sponsor of the World Championship Paint Horse Show, Top Hand Tack will provide Western saddles to several champions, including winners of All-Around Horse, Amateur, and Novice titles. Reserve Champions in these categories come away with spur straps donated by the sponsor. Saddles will also be awarded to the All-Around 13 & Under and 14 – 18 Youth Divisions, as well as High- Point Western Performance Horse, and High- Point Western Youth winners.
This is an important order for the company from Kennedale, Texas. The company, which is dedicated to outfitting both horse and horseman from the shoes up, has gained national recognition for quality customized tack since its 1996 launch.
“Our intent now is to take on a more active role in the Paint Horse industry,” said Dale Goebel, company partner of seven years.
Goebel’s support of the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) started in 1984, when he served as the American Junior Paint Horse Association’s president. When Top Hand Tack began its partnership with the APHA during the Youth group’s 30th anniversary in 2004, it was a perfect fit.
Top Hand Tack established its roots about five years prior to its opening. Goebel’s partner’s – Chuck Milne, and James Cox – owned Texas Farrier Supply. With the success of that business, incorporating a tack shop was the next step.
The partners have spent the past eight years expanding the company and researching the needs of horsemen. Their resulting inventory, combined with a top-of-the-line customer-service policy accounts for their popularity.
“We try to treat everyone as we want to be treated,” said Goebel. “Whether they’re buying a brush, a saddle or just want to learn more about horses, we are here to help and educate everyone about the horse business.”
