Metro Golf Cars of Fort Worth offers a great way to get around at the APHA World Show

FORT WORTH, Texas—With thousands of exhibitors and visitors expected to attend the World Championship Paint Horse Show, which takes place June 25–July 8 at the 85-acre Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, more than a few will be looking for ways to beat the mid-summer heat as they travel around the sprawling complex.

Metro Golf Cars of Fort Worth offers a solution. As part of its continuing sponsorship of the APHA World Show, the company will maintain a fleet of 150 gas and electric vehicles at the show and service them on-site. According to a company representative, the cars can be adapted to many configurations to haul people, feed and supplies. The vehicles can accommodate from two to eight people.

“One of the most exciting things about the APHA World Show for us is that as a vendor, we get to enjoy the world’s most beautiful horses and a great group of people, and still call it work,” said company representative Ben King. “We are proud to be a Fort Worth company and hope that our involvement helps promote the ambiance participants and visitors experience.”

The newest edition to the Metro Golf Cars line is the Kawasaki Mule. For those who need the extra capacity and a little more speed, this vehicle can supply it.

An annual non-qualifying event for registered American Paint Horses, the APHA World Championship Show will include 179 classes, including five Challenge Series classes and three sweepstakes events. A select sale, a trade show and many other special activities will also be offered.

All World Show activities take place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, an 85-acre equine complex with three major air-conditioned arenas, located in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district.

The World Show has experienced steady and sustained growth throughout the years. The record 4,848 entries last year represented a 78 percent increase over the 2,727 entries made just 10 years ago.

Approximately 2,000 horses are expected to compete at the 2006 World Show.
