Reim, an APHA member, won her New Holland tractor after she purchased
the winning ticket through APHA’s Donate & Draw program, which
launched last December and ran through July 7 when the winning ticket
was chosen at the World Championship Paint Horse Show in Fort Worth,
Texas. All money raised from the sale of the tickets directly benefit
the American Paint Horse Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to
support youth scholarships, promote equine research and preserve the
heritage of the American Paint Horse.
"I had planned on donating to the Foundation because it is such a
great program," said Reim. "And then I came across an ad for the New
Holland Donate & Draw program in APHA Connection (a member-based
magazine). I had always wanted a tractor and decided now was the time
to donate. I forgot about the tractor until they called me to tell me
I had won."
Along with Reim, several other APHA members and donors entered the
drawing with hopes of winning a brand-new tractor. The Foundation
raised $17,800 through the fundraiser.
While New Holland donated the tractor, Craig Weisner from Garton
Tractor, an authorized New Holland dealer in Santa Rosa, Calif.,
presented Reim with her newest addition to her horse facility. The
northern California resident plans to use her tractor to clean out
her horse stalls and help keep her facility in top form.
New Holland initially partnered with APHA in 2007 and this program
was a great success its first year. New Holland will be donating an
identical tractor to APHA for a 2008 Donate & Draw program. Stay
tuned to find out more details about the 2008 New Holland Tractor.
